At the beginning of this year, most of us made little promises to ourselves to make 2016 our best year yet. Keeping fit and healthy, making more time for friends and family and, (one a little harder to achieve) taking as many amazing trips as possible.
As much as travelling overseas and seeing new places is great, it gets really expensive. It is just as important to make sure you take the time to see your own country and experience it all for yourself. Like REALLY experience it. Not just for that perfect Instagram picture but for the joy of travel, bonding with friends and living in the moment.
Life gets messy and busy and it’s difficult to remember to keep these promises you once made. If you have found that you have already lost track, this is me reminding you, to make sure you take sometime out for YOU! Everyone gets so caught up with the busyness that is life so that’s why I want to challenge you this week if you are reading this post. I want you to take some time out for you and a friend. Doing something a little different like a hike, talking a weekend trip away, going rollerblading, rock climbing… anything a little challenging and different to your normal routine and will give you and your bestie some memories to take away with you.
Last weekend, one of my besties and I decided to take our first ever hike together. We have been friends for 10 years and this was the first time we had ever done something like this! You know what? I think this was possibly the best bonding time we have ever had. Bonding over new experiences will always beat chilling at home messaging your friends over Facebook, that’s why, this week, I hope you will accept my challenge to make a small change to your routine and Guuuurl get outside! Your body and mentality will thank you for it!
