Byron Bay is a coastal town in New South Wales, known for its beaches, surf and gypsy vibes. It’s a really popular holiday destination and with good reason, Byron was the easiest place and probably where I felt most chill throughout my trip.
We intended on only staying overnight and then finding our next spot, but we soon realized that one night would not be enough, so we ended spending 2 days down there, we could have easily stayed longer but our itinerary wouldn’t allow for it!
My top recommendations when you have 48 hours in Byron bay:
- SHOPPING AT SPELL & THE GYPSY COLLECTIVE
Spell is everything that reflects Byron Bay. Gypsy flowing dresses, colourful prints and decor to die for is all that makes this little store so special. The gorgeous displays featured make for the perfect photo opportunity and the cutest Instagram pics too which is a bonus!
2. THE LIGHTHOUSE
One of my absolute highlights of the trip was visiting the lighthouse to watch the sunset, definitely a must see while you’re staying in Byron! For more pics and our video, click the link here.
3. THE FLAMINGO
Located a little out of the city center- The Flamingo is the perfect spot to get settled in Byron. The thing I loved about staying here was not only the affordable rooms and tidy white fittings but the homely nature of this place. They have adorable white bicycles which you can use at your leisure and the rooms were spacious and quite large. Overall, I was really pleased with this find, believe it or not- this was the cheapest accommodation in Byron so we were pretty amazed at that.
