The weather is getting a little warmer now that we have surpassed winter and while were not quite in summer, the chance of getting a good beach day in is looking far more likely. While I was staying in Brisbane last month we came across some of the most gorgeous beaches in the surrounding areas that are well worth the day trip. Here is a quick round-up of the beaches I recommend visiting if you happen to be in the area looking for a cute spot to chill out for the day.
A 1.5 hour drive north of Brisbane you will find the lovely Mooloolaba. There is loads happening in this small town and plenty of restaurants to choose from to stop for lunch or dinner. Mooloolaba is definitely one spot where you can easily spend the entire day. It’s a very lively beach and is a really popular spot with tourists and locals all year round.
THE PASS- BYRON BAY
The Pass is famously known for it’s surf, picturesque views and a stunning lookout (where we took the featured pictures) Although I don’t surf myself due to my lack of coordination, and a slight fear of deep water. I could have stayed at this beach the whole day- the lookout was such an amazing spot, the pictures can’t do it justice- it was just that incredible. This is one beach I would definitely visit again and again (and preferably with a drone next time, because OMG the videos you could capture here!!)
Noosa along Sunshine Coast is yet another popular tourist destination, and for obvious reasons. Driving through the town, it was quite clearly a very cool spot to eat, drink and shop. The beach was really stunning and offered clear paths so it would be a really nice spot to take your dog for a walk. Noosa has a very chilled out atmosphere and is the perfect spot for trying your hand at jet skiing, surfing or paddle boarding. I wish we had more time here to venture off into town but it’ll be on top of my list for next time!
