Holly

Holly

The girl with the crystal blue eyes and the pale skin. The quiet girl with the kind heart.

I first met Holly when she came into the salon I was working in for a haircut. I instantly fell in love with her cute little face and asked her to model for me. Our last shoot we worked on was featured in the Hito Magazine, and we knew we had to work together again. This is the result of our second shoot, shot by the talented James Yang.

I dare you not to get lost in her blue eyes.

April 29, 2015

IMG_1206_edited Hey everyone, wow! First of all, thank you :) I am completely taken back by all the support from my last post. I was pretty nervous about posting it actually, but the feedback has been completely amazing and I can’t thank everyone enough for being so supportive! I really appreciate all the messages and kind words More info on the store will be coming very soon I promise! For now, I wanted to share with you my look I put together this cold winters day from Queenshop. They sent me out some goodies after I downloaded re.mu.   is a fashion app where you can upload your daily looks to and connect with other fashion bloggers. They got in touch with me and these are the pieces that I chose, they were sent to me a few weeks ago and you can also check out my post  if you want to see the dress they sent me too. P.s if you do read that post we finally made our desk! I’m typing from it right now 😀 The jacket is my favourite item from this whole look. The material is gorgeous, you can definitely tell it’s going to last really well. The dark navy colour stands out when were out and about too, I have received a lot of compliments on this already. I LOVE this jacket! I’ve also been getting quite a lot of wear out of these cute little shoes, and they are still white (YAY) but only time will tell…. I’m sure it wont be long until their totally covered in paint or mud or something…. Until then, I will continue to wear them almost daily… Thanks for reading guys, talk soon x

Chasing Dreams and Magical Things

April 27, 2015

Antoinette Bonbon Chasing dreams

Since I left my job just over a month ago, I have been getting A LOT of questions about what I am doing with my life or why I decided to leave my job when I seemed to be doing so well. So this post is to basically fill everyone in on what my plans are, what I have been doing for the last month and why I ACTUALLY  decided to leave.

I’ll start with why I decided to take the plunge and leave my job without having anything else lined up.

I had been working in the same salon for a good five years. I had a great boss and I was exposed to many, cool opportunities. I was competing in competitions and working on some cool shows. But, I was burnt out. Travelling for at least 2 hours each day, fitting in shoots every weekend and feeling a little bored with the same routine everyday finally got to me. My passion was gone and I was feeling a little lost. I decided I wanted to move to Australia, so I handed in my notice.

Then,  Richard was offered a really cool opportunity with his job and we knew we had to stay. When I found out we couldn’t make the move yet, I have to admit I struggled from anxiety. I HAD JUST LEFT MY JOB WITH NOTHING LINED UP!!!!! I couldn’t sleep most nights and my brain was moving 1000 times faster than normal. Despite all that, I knew I had to leave. I had reached the end of my time there, and deep down there was so much more I wanted to do, this was the perfect opportunity to just go for it. I decided not to look for another job, because I knew I needed to break away from the salon life to really know what I wanted to do. This little life change has been a huge step for me, and I’m really glad I took it. Life is feeling a little brighter and the anxiety is a distant memory. Turns out I just really needed to take a few steps back to just enjoy life and not be so absorbed in my work. So here is what I have been up to for the last month….

-I have finally been making time for myself

Since the tender age of 16 I have worked full time, and before that I worked part time after school and on the weekends. I decided school wasn’t for me at a young age, so this is usually the price you pay…..I have been a checkout girl, a retail assistant, a barrista, a hairdresser… you get it. I have done a lot with my working career. So, in this last month I have been making the most of my break.  I have been going away for long weekends, reading books I never got around to reading, going out on a lot of coffee dates and dinners and most importantly having days where I blob in bed all day with my pyjamas on.

-I have been getting creative

One of my favourite past times is directing and styling photo-shoots. There is nothing I love more than creating a beautiful photo and seeing my visions become true works of art. This is how I express myself creatively and it gives me a sense of accomplishment.

-I am chasing my dreams

One of my goals for this year was to start up my very own online boutique. It’s something I have wanted to do for a while and after reading countless blog posts by the incredible Gala Darling  I knew that this was the year to do so. I planned to do this in Melbourne and I shall do this here in Auckland. I am currently working on a new site and can’t wait to share it with you all.

Future plans.

So, this is where I tell you about my plans for the store. Well, it will be launching in a months time. Currently, I’m making sure everything will be perfect and ready for the launch. Everything in the store will be handpicked by yours truly. There is nothing in that store I wouldn’t personally wear and their is a good mixture of new pieces, one-offs and pre-loved vintage pieces too. There will be more information coming very soon but for now, check out my  page. I have started to search for some fun loving, dedicated and baben promoters to help me kick start this baby, and I’m thinking that could be you?!

I’ll see you over there xxxx

Simplicity by the beach

April 22, 2015

Hey everyone I hope your week is treating you well! A mid-week post because I wanted to share with you some photo’s that were taken while back with John Barwood. A talented photographer from the UK who was here in New Zealand on holiday for a few months. We ventured all over Auckland finding beautiful spots, and I think we succeeded! I hope you do like the photo’s, and if you haven’t already, you can check out the rest of the shoot

I am wearing the always amazing . You may have already guessed I am a massive fan of Wilde Hearts. The range is fun, bright and the options are endless.  I thought this made such a cute summer outfit! I absolutely adore the neckline of this top, it’s simplicity perfectly ties in with the cute sailor shorts…. One outfit I’ll be busting out again next summer.

Happy Thursday xx

How the F#*k do I wear a Bralette?

April 20, 2015

Once upon a time, a visible bra was the biggest fashion blunder you could make. Thanks to social media, (not to mention all the babes wearing them) it now seems the more lace you show, the better.

There are so many gorgeous styles of the Bralette on the market these days and when you’re wearing something so lacey, feminine and sexy, why would you want to hide it?

Unfortunately, there not the easiest things to style. You can go from sexy and elegant to (for lack of a better word) tarty, if not done right. If you are one of the MANY left wondering “how would I even wear that???” Here are some sneaky tips and picture’s I put together to help you show off that bralette without showing off “too” much.

Song of Style is completely gorgeous! I liked this image because she has just the right amount of straps showing. If you do think it’s showing off too much, you can always button up slightly more for a peek-a-boo effect

Bralette and Image by Her Apparel

The cooler months are coming up and these amazing straps give this sweater a edgier, more fashion forward look. One to definitely try.

I am loving this runway look! Team a sheer blouse with a soft Bralette underneath for a soft feminine look that is sure to grab attention for the right reasons.

Dressing up a plain singlet is a breeze with this cute style

Show off beautiful details with a backless shirt. (This is definitely a style I still need to try!)

Definitely more a summer look, but pairing your bralette with a high-waisted skirt is always a winning look for me. I love this look, I think it is really sexy, elegant and pretty, it’s also very wearable.

So I want to know what you guys think! Do you love or loathe of the bralette, and if you do love them, would you be game enough to show it off? Let me know your thoughts!

Simone

April 16, 2015

Less than a year go, I found this lovely creature, by the name of Simone on Instagram.

We have been making magic ever since. Every time we shoot I fall a little more in love……. with not only her face, but her cool aesthetic.

Here are a few snippets of a shoot we worked on recently. I fell in love with this series and I hope you get something out of them too.

Vintage Shopping with Queenshop

April 12, 2015

I have been working on a little project with the fashion app Re.mu. An app that allows you to upload your daily outfits, so other fashion obsessives can find out where to buy them or offer inspiration themselves. On Friday, (thanks to this little project) I received a fantastic little delivery all the way from Taiwan.

Opening up the box, to find some gorgeous new pieces from the online store, Queenshop. I’m very happy with my new outfits and wanted to share them with you guys. This is outfit number one and the second one will be up on the blog  very soon!

On Saturday, we were searching all over Auckland for some vintage shops. Our current DIY project consists of putting together a rustic looking desk. Unfortunately, no luck so far, but I’m sure we will get there! If anyone knows some great junk shops in Auckland, please don’t hesitate to tell me! (I’ve changed the settings so it’s easier for you guys to comment below) 😀

While shopping, I wore this dress with my Topshop shoes and fedora and I really like it’s almost “brethren” feel. (It’s weird I know but I’m a sucker for a preppy schoolgirl look) Hope you guys like the pics, now get back to your weekend!

Also, shout out to the lovely ladies at the , your cronuts to die for xx

Hey I heard you were a wilde one

April 6, 2015

Hi, hello and welcome to another blog post, I hope you all had a great Easter weekend and it’s not too difficult to get back into the swing of things with work :/

This week I am crushing on Wilde Hearts Boutique. As soon as I found them on Instagram, I quickly fell in love.

For this shoot I am wearing the Leo Shorts. I’m obsessed with this print. They are definitely a statement and can still be easily matched with other pieces due to them being black and white! Win win!

My crop top is the Ocean Neopreen Crop. I do love this crop! The material is great, (There’s nothing more disappointing when you buy something online and the material is dodgy when it arrives) but I can safely say that this is great quality. It’s comfortable and the fit is perfect, not to mention it’s on sale at the mo! Check it out !
