Styling Ankle Boots; Part One: Summer Lunch Date
Ankle Boots are loved and hated by many. On first glance, they are absolutely gorgeous, only to try them on and discover that they cut your legs off making them look like stumps, or they look weird with all your skirts? And…… Do people actually tuck them into jeans? Is that a thing?
Styling ankle boots is pretty simple. You just need to follow a few basic guidelines to avoid looking frumpy. I’m going to be covering different styling options over three different posts, and today I’m starting with a Summer Lunch Date.
Styling these boots is in Summer is easy because hemlines are getting shorter, meaning your legs are going to look a little longer. Here are some key points to note about styling;
- Opt for neutral colours, so you can pair easily with the rest of your wardrobe. Black, Tan, Nude are all winners.
- The pointed toes make the look much more feminine.
- Yes, my playsuit is very short! But all you really are aiming for is a skirt that is soft and feminine, on the knee or just above works really well too! See Victoria’s look as reference.
- Make sure the cut of the boots are just above your ankle to give a more flattering silhouette.
- If your going out on a lunch/dinner date, there’s not too much walking involved so go for higher heels to elongate your legs.
- The fringe on these boots make for a really cool and casual look, meaning you have a really feminine boot, with a cool edge.
Next look I’m going to be tackling the ankle boots in a more dressy look, do you struggle for styling choices when your heading out for a drink with friends? Then watch out for my next post on ankle boots!
